What Affects the Cost
of Your Child's Visit?

Pricing varies because every child’s mouth is different.

The factors that shape your child’s specific cost include the type of treatment needed (preventive care costs less than restorative work), whether x-rays or additional diagnostics are required during the visit, the complexity of the procedure itself, and your insurance coverage.

Our team walks you through each of these before treatment begins so the final number is something you’ve already seen and agreed to.

Common Questions About Pricing

  • How much does a pediatric dentist cost in Ontario?

Costs vary by treatment. Many routine and preventive services, such as exams, cleanings, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, are typically billed according to the Ontario General Practitioner Fee Guide. Certain specialized pediatric treatments may follow the Ontario Specialist Fee Guide based on the procedure involved. At Kids Dental Group, a new patient exam typically ranges from $120 to $160, and a recall visit ranges from $60 to $90. Full pricing ranges are listed above.

  • Is the first visit more expensive?

A new patient exam costs more than a recall visit because it includes a full assessment of your child’s teeth, gums, jaw development, and any early concerns. After the initial visit, routine checkups fall into the lower recall visit range.

  • Are pediatric dentists covered by insurance?

Most insurance plans cover pediatric dental visits. The level of coverage depends on your plan, and our team can help you understand what’s included before treatment starts.

  • Do you offer payment options?

Yes. Our team can walk you through available options during your visit so you can choose what works for your family’s budget.

  • What if my child needs additional treatment?

If additional treatment is recommended during a visit, our team explains what’s needed, why it’s recommended, and what it will cost before moving forward. Nothing happens without your approval.

  • Can I get an estimate before the visit?

Yes. Contact our team with details about what your child needs, and we can provide a general estimate based on the information you share. A precise cost is confirmed after the in-person exam.
