RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY
Our pediatric dentists use various dental techniques to restore broken, decayed, or problematic teeth. Fillings and crowns are the most common procedures to create more natural and beautiful little smiles. Fillings come in two types, silver amalgam, which is very durable and the traditional material used, and composite resin, which is also known as a white filling because it looks the same as your tooth. Fillings are primarily used for chipped, cracked or broken teeth, decayed or worn teeth and to close a space between two teeth.
Crowns on the other hand, are used to cover a tooth and restore its normal size and shape. A crown protects and strengthens a tooth structure that cannot be fixed with a filling. Porcelain and stainless steel are the most popular as they are highly durable. They are primarily used for broken or fractured teeth, very large or fractured fillings, decayed teeth or cosmetic enhancement.
